About the Event

Today, there are an estimated 40 million people trapped in some form of modern slavery, and as most of the most labour intensive industries, it is more than likely we all have the fingerprints of modern slaves somewhere in our wardrobe.

The Global Slavery Index's 2018 report, published by the Walk Free Foundation, states that $127.7 billion worth of garments at risk of including modern slavery in their supply chain are imported annually by G20 countries, a group of nations which account for 80 percent of world trade.

This vile exploitation of human rights has got to stop. On the final day of LFS2020, we will begin to figure out how.

From 10:00 we will be at Mountford Hall running workshops on how to upcycle your old beloved clothes, serving locally brewed coffee and offering surplus food delicacies to prove that we can all begin to make better choices!

The afternoon session will begin at 13:00 with a host of industry leaders and fashion provocateurs. The final day of LFS2020 will close at 16:30 with a thank you to all our partners and a discussion around a collective commitment to action. On the day we will also announce the details of the evening social meet-up where we can celebrate the close of LFS2020.
